WEDDINGS & BIRTHDAYS - How can I use the gazebo or other park space?

While it is commonplace to see people having parties and other gatherings at the park, the official Jersey City policy is that all park events and festivals are required to have a permit. If you expect 30 or more people at your event or plan to have amplified sound, you must fill out the Special Events application through the Cultural Affairs department. Visit jerseycityculture.org for more inforamtion or email culturalaffairs@jcnj.org, or call 201-547-6921.  SPECIAL EVENT APPLICATIONS MUST BE FILED 60 DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT.

If you wish to have exclusive use of the gazebo (for example a wedding ceremony) you must file a Special Events Application.  

Bring your own trash bags and please take the trash with you, or leave it next to a curbside trash receptacle where they will be picked up daily. Do not leave trash bags in the park.  Do not leave ballons or any other trash on the ground.

Can we grill and drink alcohol in the park?

No.

RESTROOMS

Hamilton Park does not have restrooms.  The HPNA and Department of Recreation provide Port-a-Potties, June through December.  They are located on the northeast corner of the park.  Due to COVID-19, Port-a-Potties are not being provided at this time (updated 8/19/2020).

Enos Jones Park has public restrooms open daily.

TENNIS COURTS

There are two public lighted tennis courts in Hamilton Park.  Both courts are first come first serve.  There is a sign-up sheet with rules posted on the entry gate to each court.  An HPNA sponsored push broom is provided to sweep up any leaves on the court.

BASKETBALL COURTS

There is one public lighted basketball court in Hamilton Park.  

There is one public lighted basketball court in Enos Jones which is fenced with a gate that is locked at night.

SPORTS FIELDS

There are two fenced and gated sports fields at Enos Jones park that are controlled by the Department of Recreation.  Please see the Department Recreation for additional program information. Department of Recreation

SKATE RINK

There is a fenced and gated skate rink at Enos Jones which is locked at night.
